BMW car radios will normally contain a 14 digit serial number which can be found either printed on a label or engraved on the side of the unit.
These serials are only visible once the BMW radio has been removed from the vehicle.
Examples of serials include:
Using our BMW stereo decoding system, you are not only saving money, but also time and the hassle which is involved.
Most vehicle main dealers require you to book in your vehicle and take the car and proof of ownership along before they apply for the radio code.
Usually the code will be based on your vehicle registration or Chassis number which can mean you are not getting the code for the current unit fitted to the car, especially if the radio has been replaced at any stage in its lifetime.
There are a number of reasons why a radio code based on the vehicles chassis number or registration may not work, these include:
At Radio-Code, we provide stereo codes based on the unique serial number of the car radio, regardless of what it was fitted to originally. Our stereo codes have proven to be more accurate than main dealer's because of this.

Brilliant, thanks Sam. Have just put it in and all working again. Thanks for your patience and help. David Stein
A quick note of thanks for your service.......yeak I know I paid but the fiver was worth it!My wife's beloved 1997 Fiesta Ghia had a minor job done at a local garage who disconnected the battery! We had mislaid our service manual with the radio code.Removal tools came from a metal coat hanger and I think the total time from cutting the coat hanger, sending the code, paying by PayPal, resetting the radio and locking the car took no more than 3 minutes!!!.
