Location of Serial No. on Sony Stereos

do not take the serial from a user guideNever take the serial number from any printed paperwork or user guides, since this may not match the actual Sony radio fitted to the car.  Instead, take the serial number from either a label or an engraving on the top or side of your Sony stereo, to ensure the supplied Sony radio code is accurate.

More info about retrieving your lost Sony code.

By using our online Sony radio decoding service, you not only save yourself money, but also time and the additional hassle involved. Most vehicle main dealers will require you to book an appointment and take the car and paperwork (v5 logbook) into them before they apply for the radio code.   Once they do apply for the code, 9/10 times it will be based on your vehicle registration or VIN number of the car itself, which is fine if you have owned the car from new. However, receiving the radio code days later only to find that it did not work is yet another inconvenience.

There are a number of reasons why a stereo code based on the vehicle registration or vin number may not work, including:

At Radio-Code, we don't provide radio codes based on the car, instead we provide the code based on the individual and unique serial number of the car radio, regardless of what it was fitted to originally.  Our radio codes have proven to be more accurate than main dealer's because of this.

Thank's for the excellent service, the code worked first time. I'll have no problems recommending this service to any of my friends. Janice Coleman

Just wanted to say thanks for your awesome service!! Having completely fluffed entering the code I received on line (wrong serial no. given by myself and wrong method of entry to boot) I gave your office a call expecting the usual computer says no... it's against our t&c's etc. regarding changes to info supplied on line so you'll have to purchase another code. Instead I received a very refreshingly polite & down to earth response along with additional advice on code entry method for my radio model. All sorted in less than 5 minutes! In my line of work I spend a lot of time dealing with call centres etc. If only I could I'd send you a list of them to go in and show them how it's done! You have genuinely restored my faith in after sales customer service! Regards, Chris Heard.. Chris Heard

Radio-code.co.uk is by far the best and most efficient way in which to obtain those pesky radio codes! They charge far less than those so called 'friendly/here to help' dealerships! My code was emailed to me within a day and it worked just perfect! Thank you radio-code.co.uk for your top notch service! Regards. James Miles

Radio code worked fine and was a lot easier, quicker and probably cheaper than going to a main dealer. Many thanks. Darren Kitson
